opened in 1997 to provide much needed facilities for
adults with profound disabilities in Carlow. It is the first of its kind in
Ireland. With five rooms devoted to the sensory development of the user, it has
improved the lives of all who attend each day and many other services and

Rehabilitative Training Programm A
three year training programme offering adults the opportunity to gain
FETAC certifi cation in a range of areas from life-skills to practical
work skills We use our excellent facilities on-site including our catering unit, garden centre & woodwork unit Designated state of the art training unit to open on our grounds in 2008 Five mature students in Adult Education Pilot project for Junior Certifi cate and Leaving Certificate Adult Literacy and Numeracy VEC at delta Carlow IT - Sports and Health Gain Course 12 weeks

| VEC Adult Education Links Programme Through Carlow VEC, the Adult Literacy and
Numeracy programmes began. In 2006 a pilot project for PLC Junior Certificate
in five subjects was set up by VEC. Five mature students from Delta had 3 years of extraordinary experiences, embracing life
as students, achieving great success in their exams and enriching the lives of
teachers and students. Delta Centre also offers a 12 week course in sports and health gain from IT
Carlow. |

Staff A total of 80
people are currently employed at the centre on a full and part-time basis,
which includes staff at the Sensory Gardens, the garden centre, the residential
units and in the area of administration, teaching and caring professions.
